Morning Song - Psalm 59:16

"But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning..."

Sleepy-eyed, bed head and all...

Actually she was singing to the light. She likes lights. Nonetheless, it was a good reminder for me to get over my groggy self and rejoice in the mornings and praise God for His new day and His steadfast love.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."  That is something worth singing about.

Lookie at what I can do...

I am completley blessed because I get to stay home everyday with our little girl and watch her grow and learn. She is like a little sponge, studying and taking everything in. It seems like every single day she is picking up new tricks...here she is showing off some of her more recently acquired skills...

1. Grabbing objects and bringing them to her mouth.

2. Showing frustration as she reailzes that it is not possible, nor is it necessary to fit all of the rings in her mouth at one time. But she sure is determined to do so.

3. Rolling over. I think she learned this by watching Radar.

I know its hard to believe coming from a "stay at home mom" who sometimes goes days on end without leaving the house, but my life is more exciting now then it ever has been. I wonder what we will learn next?!?

Jillian 1, Leslie and Josh 0

Darn you Jillian Michaels...I don't like you. Neither does Josh.

P.S. Lewie, you know who you are, I just started your daily journal thingy. I think it was a great idea and I'm hoping I can keep up with it.

P.P.S.S. (actually I'm pretty sure its supposed to only have one S., but it looks better with two S's because without the second one it reads "pp's" and that makes me giggle. Yes sometimes I'm just that immature.) On a completely unrelated note to workouts, daily journals, or pp's, last night I was  excited to find that one of my favorite singers, Josh Garrels, has his newest album up for free downloading. That's a great deal. If you want to give it a try go here. Not everyone I've shared his music with likes it (his style is very different) but I'm a big fan. On this album, which I've had playing all day, I've really come to like the song titled "bread and wine."

P.P.P.S.S.S. (this is just getting ridiculous) On another completely unrelated but much more important note, and probably would have been the subject of this post if it would have happened before I finished...I am currently talking to my friend Joyce from China who when I asked her how she was doing said "i am fine, too I should let you know that i have been a Christian on last chrismas eve :)" praise God!

2 years.

Year one of marriage: Josh and I move to China.
Year two of marriage: Josh and I welcome a fantastic little Lynley girl into our family.
Year Three....You have some serious shoes to fill.

This post will be short because its our anniversary and who wants to spend their anniversary night blogging? But as Josh is currently distracted by the Oklahoma State vs. Stanford bowl game I thought t I would slip away to write this down...before a few days/weeks/months get away from me and I forget it all...

Today we left Lynley with her Auntie Mimi and Josh took me on a lunch date to a place called "Ingredients," we wanted to try a new place, and it was alright but the company made it fantastic. We ate, talked about what adventures these first two years has offered, and tried to guess what marriage still has in store for us. As we sat there and talked we also laughed at/watched people ice skate right outside the window.

When I asked if Josh enjoyed ice skating the few times he has gone he answered: "Leslie, I'm comfortable with the fact that there are just some things in life I'm not suppose to do."

I love that man.  Happy Anniversary Buddy.
